Black Friday 2022 is here, and we’re seeing some great deals on games and gaming gear. Major retailers like Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart, Target, and GameStop have begun their holiday sales ahead of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Digital deals are also expected for PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch games, with each online store preparing their own sales. We’re even seeing rare deals on consoles, like the Xbox Series S, a Nintendo Switch bundle, and the Meta Quest 2 VR headset.

Black Friday 2022 gaming deals: What to expect
Whether you’re a dedicated console gamer, a hardcore PC player, or just enjoy casual games in your spare time, Black Friday delivers the year’s best sales on games and accessories. Brick and mortar stores and digital storefronts offer their best prices on games during the holiday weekend, and popular hardware companies like Logitech and Razer discount their products heavily.
Special holiday bundles for popular consoles like the Xbox Series S and Nintendo Switch can help sweeten a big purchase during Black Friday. Deals on essential subscriptions like Xbox Game Pass and Nintendo Switch Online are usually available during Black Friday too. Here’s what to expect for each major platform.
- Playstation: The PS5 will be highly sought after during Black Friday but it’s unclear how much stock will be available. Discounts on the PS5’s DualSense controller are also rare, but you will find deals on games and PlayStation compatible headsets.
- Xbox: While Xbox Series X stock may be slim, the Xbox Series S is widely available with special offers, including $50 off. Expect more deals on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox controllers, and discounts on games in the Microsoft Store.
- Nintendo: Nintendo has detailed some of its upcoming Black Friday deals. Offers include a $300 Switch bundle with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and three months of Nintendo Switch Online. Several games are also discounted by $20, and The Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit toy is on sale for 40% off.
- PC: Black Friday is a great time to find deals on PC gaming hardware like monitors, mice, headsets, and keyboards. Digital shops like Steam and the Epic Games Store offer dozens of discounts on games too.
Will the PS5 and Xbox Series X go on sale for Black Friday?
Retailers should have some PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X stock ready for Black Friday, but don’t expect any deals or discounted prices. Thankfully stock of both consoles is more readily available this year, but they will still be hard to find during the holiday shopping weekend.
Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy have recently given priority on PlayStation 5 orders to customers in their respective loyalty programs, meaning Amazon Prime members, Walmart+ subscribers, and Best Buy Total Tech members get first access. While the retailers haven’t shared an update on PS5 availability, it’s likely that a membership will give you a better chance at buying the console.
